Victorious Double for Karhan: Czech Racers Thrill the Crowd at Masaryk Racing Days

The Masaryk Racing Days offered a program of 14 weekend races, where Czech racers shone, particularly Max Karhan, who dominated two of the three races in the F4 CEZ series.

Sixteen-year-old Max Karhan, racing for Jenzer Motorsport, made a significant impact at the top of the F4 CEZ championship standings. He won two of the three weekend races, closing in on the points leader, Oscar Wurz. The son of a former Formula 1 driver was the main favorite going into the weekend, but due to issues at the start of the first race, he fell short of expectations. The final round of the formula series, set to take place at Austria’s Salzburgring, promises to be very exciting.

The TCR Europe series made its debut at the Masaryk Circuit, offering two spectator-friendly races where Czech and Slovak drivers made a strong impression. The first race, held together with the TCR Eastern Europe partner series, was won overall by championship leader Franco Girolami, with Aurélien Comte in second, and Slovak racer Maťo Homola finishing third. This also secured Homola the win in the separate TCR Eastern Europe classification.

The second joint race did not go well for the favorites Aurélien Comte and Franco Girolami. Hungarian driver Levente Losonczy celebrated the overall victory, with Ignacio Montenegro finishing second and Viktor Andersson taking the bronze. In the Sunday classification of TCR Eastern Europe, Adam Kout emerged victorious. “There was a packed grid, beautiful races, and lots of cars on the track. Yesterday, I managed to finish third, and today I had a perfect start. Although I lost some positions before the first corner, I managed to fight them back. I kept a close eye on tire wear and my lead over Martin Kadlečík in second,” commented the Czech driver from the HYUNDAI / Janík Motorsport team on his weekend. His teammate Maťo Homola secured third place.

Adam Lacko from the Buggyra Racing team can be pleased with his Brno weekend. Driving his Mercedes AMG GT4, he dominated both sprint races in his class and finished second in the endurance hour race. The GTC category was dominated by the drivers of Mičánek Motorsport. Josef Záruba won the first sprint race ahead of Bronislav Formánek, while they swapped places in Sunday’s race. Dennis Waszek took third place in both races. Petr Fulín won both sprint races in the GT3 class. In the sports prototypes, Emanuel Pedrazza celebrated victory on Saturday, with Marco Fink taking the win on Sunday.

The action on the track was complemented by a support program, highlighted by runs of former F1 single-seaters and an airshow featuring two DirectFly Alto NG ultralights. Before the main race on Sunday, these ultralights landed on the finish straight of the Masaryk Circuit.
